Extra hands at the counter

Five years as a pharmacy technical assistant, one year as a pharmacy student. I take contracts anywhere in Quebec.

Two forms of contract

Clinical contract

Patient counselling at the counter
Counselling over the phone
Counselling on new prescriptions at the counter, red and yellow baskets
Phone counselling on new prescriptions, blue baskets, before the patient arrives
Preparing Bill 31 and Bill 41 clinical cases for the pharmacist's decision: smoking cessation, urinary tract infection and the other listed situations
Backup for the technical assistants during rush periods

These activities are carried out under the constant supervision of the responsible pharmacist, as set out in Regulation P-10, r. 3.01.

Technical contract

Entering and preparing prescriptions
Labelling, bagging, preparing pill organisers
Counter work: taking in prescriptions, refills, file follow-up
Receiving orders, stock management, returns and recalls
Container-content verification, where the pharmacy has its delegation programme in place and after the usual settling-in period

Patient counselling and clinical cases are not part of this form of contract. They belong to the clinical contract.

Hourly rate	Set according to the period and the length of the contract, the same for either form. The estimate below applies the rate in force.
Travel	$0.75 a kilometre, return trip, from L'Ange-Gardien (G0A 2K0). On a contract with overnight accommodation, the trip is counted once rather than each day.
Meals	$50 a day, as soon as the pharmacy is more than 50 km away or the day runs beyond 8 hours.
Accommodation	$150 a night, on a contract of more than one day at a pharmacy more than 100 km away.
Taxes	GST at 5% and QST at 9.975% on top.
Invoicing	The invoice goes to the owner once the contract is over. Payment by direct deposit or by Interac transfer to facturation@jephjacquet.com.
